I Remember Her Kindness

In 2008, Kathy accompanied me back to Japan, and that memory will forever be etched in my mind. Because my husband, Adam, a US Navy officer, was deployed with the USN Carrier Strike Group 5, Kathy decided to travel with me, my two young boys, and my newborn daughter, Takara, to Japan. Her support was crucial in those stretching times as I had to restart my life in Japan with a month-old baby.

She selflessly committed to staying in Japan to help me re-establish our life there. Kathy took care of the children and me while aiding me by freeing me up to address administrative tasks needed to re-establish ex-pat residency. Without her by my side, I am not sure I could have done it alone. For her unwavering commitment, love, and support, I am grateful, and I will always hold her dear in my heart.
